Sleek Saturday: Toxic Fusion

So I got invited by the wonderful Liloo (@tsunimee) to take part in this week's Sleek Saturday (Scroll to the bottom to see the other posts for this Sleek Saturday). The idea behind this brilliant weekly series is to pick out one of the Sleek palettes that you own but perhaps use less than you should... I only own two and the Storm palette is my everyday go-to palette so I had to use the Acid palette. I'll ask you to forgive the state of it, it looked like this when I bought it which is why it only cost £1.00 instead of the usual £6.49! I wanted this palette the moment I saw it, but not enough to pay full price... Only now, doing this look, I realise why it would be worth the money!

Sleek MakeUp iDivine Eyeshadow Palette in Acid

One thing I can only stress to you is how well pigmented these shadows are! For some strange reason my swatches don't do the shadows justice, as you'll see from the makeup look the pigmentation is actually amazing!

One not so great thing with this Sleek palette is that unfortunately the neon, matte shadows are quite chalky... Not unbearably, but a little... The shimmery shadows are smooth and creamy but the matte neons just aren't quite as smooth...

Anyhow, on with the look! [From here-on-out the post is a little picture heavy...]

I wasn't expecting to create something that looks this good! Not to blow my own trumpet or anything... But I wore this out and I got so many complements... Maybe I'm just not used to any complements or something, but I actually got complemented on this!

I used the lighter blue on the outer two thirds of the eyelid and the neon green on the inner corner. I used the darker blue on the edge of the crease to create depth, and the cherry pink in the crease with the violet purple extending and the white as a highlight. My favourite colours in this palette are the two blues, the khaki green and the cherry pink... They also seem to be the smoothest to apply and the most pigmented.

  2. I love the look you've created here - it's really colourful but still wearable at the same time. I don't have the acid palette, always been a bit scared of it! Ellie x

  5. My jaw has just dropped. Hand on my heart, this is the prettiest look I've seen done with the acid palette, even better than jangsara. wow. Your photos are ace too, and loved the little ribbon pictures in the palette. Yes, your palette looks a little bit shabby, but heck for £1, it's seriously good value!! xx
